Pagalinanda demonstrates the Naga Practice of ‘penis yoga’ in his den near the cremation grounds of Pashupatinath. This practice is based on the complete transcendence of sexual impulses. After this, the yogi is truly initiated during a ritual in which certain nerves of the penis are broken, enabling him to "lift" rocks weighing over 100 pounds. However, the initiation ceremony for this practice makes it highly unlikely he will ever have another erection.

A group of sadhus engage in an austerity called the panch-agni-tapasya, or five fire practice, in which pieces of burning cow dung are placed around the Sadhu as he meditates or performs hatha yoga. Over a cycle of eighteen years, the Sadhu increases the number of fires from five at the beginning to a full ring complete with a pot of burning cow dung on the head by the end. During this austerity, usually practiced during the height of summer heat, the Sadhus ability to remain focused on his chosen mantra and deity is severely tested.Pashupatinath, Kathmandu, Nepal.

Pagalinanda Aghori baba, of 66 years, demonstrates the Naga practice of 'penis yoga' in his den near the cremation grounds of Pashupatinath. The Aghori babas are known for their ability to transcend the pain and pleasure on earth, carrying out such extreme acts such as eating decomposed human flesh, or mix your own excrement with water and then filtering the liquid through a genre and then drink it. Some practice a form of penance and yoga lifting heavy stones suspended from the penis. The aim of the penance or tapasya is to mortify the flesh, because it is accounted as an obstacle in the path of meditation to achieve liberation on moksha. An ascetic attempts, through the tapasya, break the chains that bind him to the earthly existence thus ensuring the full and final rest. Penance is also necessary to dispel any illusion that affects an ascetic and lead them astray.Pashupatinath, Kathmandu, Nepal.
According to one of the sayings of Zen Buddhism, part of the discipline of being a Sadhu means turn to waste time conscientiously. Although in this case, things are not what they seem. This sadhu, supported by a device shaped like a trapezoid, actually took a vow not to sit or lie for a period of twelve years.Pashupatinath, Kathmandu, Nepal.

near the cremation grounds of Pashupatinath. This practice is based on the
complete transcendence of sexual impulses, and involves a preliminary period
of self-imposed celibacy for nine years. After this, the yogi is truly initiated
during a ritual in which certain nerves of the penis are broken, thus enabling
him to “lift” rocks weighting over one hundred pounds. However, the initiation
ceremony for this practice makes it highly unlikely he well ever have another
erection.
